Common issues
- "Your Mac agent is offline." Start it on your Mac with
second-brain-agent runand make sure the Mac is awake (tip:caffeinate -swhile plugged in). - macOS says it can't read your vault folder. If your vault is in a protected location (Documents, Desktop, or iCloud Drive), open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Files and Folders (or Full Disk Access) and allow your terminal app to read it. This is a one-time Files-and-Folders prompt — not Automation.
- Some notes are missing. Confirm the notes you expect are actually synced into the vault folder on your Mac (via iCloud Drive, Obsidian Sync, or your sync tool of choice) — the agent can only see files present in that folder.
- Connector shows unauthorized. Remove and re-add the connector in your assistant to refresh the OAuth grant.
- New notes (Pro) land in the wrong folder. Notes you create without naming a folder go to the root of your vault — name the target folder when you ask, or set a default notes folder in your agent configuration.
Uninstall / revoke access
- Stop and unpair the Mac agent: quit the process and delete
~/.second-brain-agent.json. - Remove the connector in your assistant's settings.
- Email us to delete your account and all associated data.
